After sitting outside for nearly 20 years, this 1979 Pontiac 10th Anniversary Trans Am received a fairly extensive restoration when it was discovered by its current owner.
Sheet metal replacement consisted of a driver-side door skin, driver-side door shell repair, a passenger-side quarter panel skin, and rear body panel repair. The bumpers and flares were repaired as well. All the body work was completed and the car was primed and blocked several times, to assure the body was straight. The car was repainted in its original two-tone color scheme and received an original style graphics kit.
Transtar products were used throughout the job due to their user friendliness. The Transtar products used on this project consisted of epoxy primer, Euro Classic Primer, Hydro Flex Waterborne Primer, No Mix Low VOC Basecoat, Euro Kwik Clear, SCAT Wax and Grease Remover, Urethane Grade Reducer, Kwik Seal 2k Urethane Sealer, Transtar Seam Sealer, and the complete Transtar Ultimate Finish System compounds and glazes. The results speak for themselves.

The American Pride Camaro, a new 2011 Camaro, is completely covered in iconic American images. The mural covering the car tells ‘the story of America’ from George Washington crossing the Delaware to the present day. Images of American leaders, soldiers and eagles cover the vehicle. The whole project took several hundred hours to complete and leading up to its debut, Mountain Muscle cars and Harris worked 23 days straight, 12-14 hours each day to get the car ready to show to the public.
After the images were carefully painted on, using water-based paints, the American Pride Camaro was sprayed with Signature Series Glamour Clear – a premium, high solids clearcoat. Greg Fodness, owner of Moutain Muscle Cars said, “Transtar Glamour Clear is a very high quality topcoat, giving us excellent results when completing high end projects like the American Pride Camaro.”
The American Pride Camaro will be touring major events nationwide over the next year, so look for it in a city near you!
Over the past few years, Seth Boldman and his team at Aggressive Designs have created seven custom bikes for magician Criss Angel. However, this year alone, Aggressive Designs created four one-of-a-kind custom painted bikes for the superstar.
The guys at Aggressive Designs used Transtar’s Glamour Clear and Factory Pack Empress Black Basecoat LV-905 to finish this latest bike for Angel. Seth says he likes to use Glamour Clear because it’s “forgiving, doesn’t wrinkle, and covers well if you have to cover over a burn from buffing.”
To make these custom designs, Angel brings ideas to the table from t-shirts, sketches, drawings on napkins, etc. and then gives Seth freedom to run with it and create incredible designs. Each bike takes about 1-2 weeks to complete, depending on the complexity of the graphics.
