Hydrobase V2 Waterborne Primer Surfacer 7001

Question

I have read the product data sheet and MSDS on this and have a some remaining questions:

  1. Can the gun and containers be cleaned with water, or is there a specific cleaning solution for this primer?
  2. There is no pot life indicated -- can unused (un-thinned) primer be returned from the gun to the can or to another closed container and reused later?
  3. The MSDS indicates use of an approved respirator if ventilation is not sufficient. Does the respirator have to be a fresh air supply type, or does approved respirator also refer to cartridge type respirators? For example, most of your other MSDS say: "MSHA/NIOSH approved cartridge respirator" to control mists and vapor.

  1. Yes, you would use water for cleaning equipment after spraying.
  2. Yes, you can pour unused product back into the can or an unused container.
  3. You should use a cartridge type respirator.
